ETHICS & SUSTAINABILITY
We want to be transparent about our sustainability journey as we know it’s important for you to be able to make informed choices. We’ve never been about fast fashion at WYSE London and believe we have a responsibility to focus on how we can do better to respect the planet and our environment.
Design
Our ethos is considered design. We make clothes that are designed and made to last. The quantities of our items are small (which means they can sell out fast!) and we often place styles on “pre-order”, so we can gauge interest and trade in to styles. This means we don’t produce more than we need and create less wastage. We source a high percentage of our fabrics from local stock markets close to the factories, this prevents over production and reduces waste and emissions.
Suppliers
We believe in building relationships with our suppliers, and we’ve been working with our core suppliers since the very beginning. These direct relationships allow us to create the best product for you, so we don’t change suppliers season to season.
Sourcing
We do not permit any cotton sourced from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan or the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. We are aware of ongoing situations and work with our suppliers to ensure our supply chain is free of any forced or child labour. Any animal product used should be sourced from animals treated with high standards of welfare. Our Wool is mulesing free and Leather is obtained as a by-product. The factories we use are annually audited and we do not allow the use of hazardous chemicals in our supply chain, our suppliers follow REACH regulations.
Materials
We’re continually working on the sustainability of our product and order packaging. Our mailing bags and boxes also contain recycled content and are recyclable. In house, we recycle waste and unwanted fabric swatches appropriately. Any samples or faulty items are sold via sample sales, or donated to the charity New Life, who support disabled children and their families.
