Position: Senior Assistant Merchandiser 

Reports to: Head of Merchandising 

 

Position Description: 

This role will be supporting the Merchandising department in achieving the company’s ambitious sales growth and profit targets, focusing on producing meaningful analysis, delivering commercial and cohesive ranges, trading the stock and maximising sales potential.  You will be working closely with a variety of business functions and will become a mentor developing the MAA on the team 

The full-time position is based at our Head Office in Shepherds Bush and is required to be in the office 4 days a week, and 1 day working from home. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Producing weekly, seasonal and ad hoc analysis that can be used to make strategic decisions within the Merch & Buying team and the wider business 
  • Reviewing weekly sales and reacting appropriately to maximise sales opportunity. 
  • Overseeing effective and accurate distribution of stock to potentialise performance across channels 
  • Collaborating with the Buying team to establish a balanced, commercial and profitable range suitable to the customer profile of the brand  
  • Become a key link between departments– communicating relevant changes in product, intake and trade actions.  
  • Working collaboratively with the e-commerce team ensuring the website is at optimum performance for the WYSE customer 
  • Responsible for identifying training needs, developing and supporting junior team members 

 

Knowledge/Skills: 

  • Currently working as a Senior AM, or an experienced AM looking for the next step 
  • Enthusiastic and flexible in response to an ever-evolving business, with ad-hoc requests and tasks  
  • Strong communication skills and effective collaboration across functions  
  • Develops, supports and empowers the junior members of the team 
  • Demonstrates logical analysis and creative problem-solving skills 
  • Trading mentality – constantly looking to find opportunities to achieve and beat profit  
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with strong understanding of Retail systems 
  • Highly organised, with great multitasking skills and the ability to prioritise own workload and that of junior team 
  • Meticulous attention to detail
